While the all-electric all-fantastic Hyundai IONIQ 5 has only been out for a couple of years, it’s already improving. It won’t be long before the Hyundai N performance version debuts. Here, Keyes Hyundai shares some of the early details we have on this performance EV.
Power
The regular Hyundai IONIQ 5 has a battery and an electric motor that combine to put out 168 net horsepower. Another variant utilizes a battery and two motors working together to produce 320 horsepower. While these are respectable numbers, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is expected to generate a whopping 600 horsepower from its battery and two motors.
Handling
The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N will have an all-wheel drive system that allows drivers to send the most power to either the front or wheels as needed. Four different drive modes – Normal, Eco, Sport, and N – enable adjustments to be made to the damping, steering weight, and throttle sensitivity. A simulated gearshift feature gives drivers the feel of a manual transmission when using the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Tech
While it’s not known yet exactly what the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N will have in terms of tech, the 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 5 provides some clues. We can certainly expect to see the following:
- Apple CarPlay®
- Android Auto™
- 12.3-inch touchscreen
- Navigation
- Multiple USB ports
- HD and satellite radio
- Six-speaker audio system, with a premium option available
