When you purchase a new Hyundai car, you can rest assured that you’ll be driving a dependable, long-lasting, and safe car. In addition to the high-quality construction of the vehicle itself, Hyundai offers one of the most robust new-car warranties in the United States and a consumer protection program known as Hyundai Assurance. The friendly dealers at our Van Nuys Hyundai dealership are happy to explain exactly what this program provides.

Hyundai Assurance: An Overview

Hyundai Assurance is a buyer protection program offered during times of unprecedented national crisis. It was first launched as a buyback program in 2009 as a response to the recession. During this time, new-car buyers and lessees who involuntarily lost their job due to the recession within the first year of vehicle purchase could return the vehicle with no further financial obligation, with up to $7,500 of deprecation accounted for.

The Hyundai Assurance program returned in 2020 as a response to the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, Hyundai offered deferred payments of up to three months for existing owners and up to six months for new-car buyers.

Is Hyundai Assurance the Same as a Warranty?

There is a common misconception that Hyundai Assurance is the name of the Hyundai warranty. Instead, the Hyundai warranty is called America’s Best Warranty, a title earned because it is standard on every new Hyundai car and includes:

  • Ten years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage
  • Five years or 60,000 miles New Vehicle Limited Warranty
  • A seven-year Anti-Perforation Warranty
  • Five years of 24-hour Roadside Assistance
