The days are getting shorter, the leaves are turning, and everything tastes like pumpkin spice. That means fall is on its way, and Keyes Hyundai wants to help you get your new Hyundai ready. Read on for some Hyundai service tips on how to prepare your car for the fall weather.

Cabin Cleanings and Replacements

The first thing you want to do when summer ends is clean your car, inside and out. Since fall will bring the first really cold weather in months, it’s a good idea to be thorough. Clean any debris or bugs off your front grille and windshield, and don't forget to give the outside of your car a good waxing to protect it against the elements.

Check to see if it's time to replace your windshield wipers, as overuse can lead to cracking and dullness. Fresh wipers will increase your visibility while driving.

It might also be time to check that your brake lights, headlights, and exterior running lights are in working order. It's better to do this now than when the cold really sets in, especially if you're traveling to a place where fog, rain, and snow can reduce your visibility and jeopardize your safety.

Checks Your Oil, Tires, A/C, and Heater

If it’s been a while since your last fluid check or oil change, get it done now. Depending on your driving habits, you’ll need to stay on top of regular oil changes throughout the fall to ensure your engine doesn’t wear down. Keep an eye on your tire pressure and get your tires rotated as recommended.

Did your new Hyundai keep you cool throughout the summer? Great! Now it's time to make sure the heater works as the cold weather sets in. If you're traveling to a colder area, don't forget to check on your defroster before winter arrives, and make sure your heated seats still work as well.

Schedule a service visit at Keyes Hyundai today and let us help you prepare for the upcoming cold snap!
