At Keyes Hyundai, we’ve noticed a major uptick in interest for hybrid and all-electric vehicles. Lucky for our customers in the greater Glenview area, we have quite the selection. As California car dealers, we plan to be at the forefront of the new vehicle revolution - and it’s pointing toward new ways of increasing vehicle efficiency and reducing emissions across the globe.
Types of Electric Vehicles
- Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) - combine a gas engine and a small electric motor. Has reduced tailpipe emissions and can travel short distances on battery alone.
- Plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) - combine gas engine and electric motor, but the battery can be charged by an external source. Can travel moderate distances in EV mode.
- Battery electric vehicles (EV) - no tailpipe emissions. Run entirely on battery power and must be charged externally. Can travel 100-300 miles on a single charge.
Drivers Want Greater Efficiency in 2021
The stats are in, and based on driver interest and product demand, more than ¼ of the 300 upcoming models to be launched in our country in the next four years will be electric. Vehicle charging stations are already fairly common in our area - 44 stations per capita, beat statistically only by two other states: Hawaii and Oregon. However, you can expect that amount to continue to grow.
