When is a compact sedan not a compact sedan? That sounds like a trick question, but it's not. Viewed from outside, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra at Keyes Hyundai is a compact sedan. Get inside, and you're suddenly sitting in a mid-sized sedan. Ah, the wonders of modern design.
2018 Hyundai Elantra Details
Following an extensive 2017 redesign, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra offers only a handful of changes. Much else stays the same. The same engines return from last year, as do most of the same trim levels (see below for the exception).
The aforementioned space is just one reason to like the Hyundai Elantra. The other reason, in common with many other new Hyundai vehicles, is a roster of standard features that would be the envy of many other companies. There are too many features to list here, so we suggest visiting your Hyundai dealership and seeing them in action.
Engine and Trim Choices
EPA fuel economy varies by configuration. |
New for 2018
This year, there's a new SEL trim that's essentially the SE trim with the Popular Equipment Package and a few extras. The infotainment system has a seven-inch display, and it also gets a host of active safety features, including Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist.
Additional Information: The 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback, available in GT and GT Sport trims. It adds a significant boost in cargo space, and ups the fun factor as well. |
2018 Hyundai Elantra Safety and Special Features
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra has plenty of available safety features, including blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, smart cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
One of our favorite features is shared between the Hyundai Elantra and the Hyundai Sonata. Hands-free trunks tend to need foot or hand gestures to open, but these cars approach the problem differently. The trunk is instead opened by a proximity sensor that detects your key fob.
